The Henry Sump barn, seen here, was constructed of solid walnut, cut on the site, along with native limestone quarried locally. Sump was struck by lightning and died at his ranch in 1920 while operating a manure spreader.

We appreciate everyone who made the Wamego Community Foundation Match Day a success. 72 separate gifts were received and we raised over $23,000! The funds are used toward the rehabilitation of the facade of the Farmers Union Coop building, also known as the annex.
